Danny came to SBA in 1999 as the Director of Church Ministries. Upon the resignation of the Executive Director Danny was called to become the new Director of Missions. Danny holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from East Texas Baptist College, a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Educational Ministries degree, also from SWBTS. Danny has lived in and around Tyler since 1969. His knowledge of Tyler, the experience gained from serving East Texas churches in several different roles for 27 years and his love for missions, makes him uniquely qualified as our Director of Missions.

Email Paula

Paula joins Smith Association bringing nine years experience of working as a Senior Pastor Administrative Assistant.
She enjoys helping people. Her goal is to always feel as though she has helped a person when they call or walk in the office .
Paula has been married to Dr. Pickens since 1973. They have two daughters and four WONDERFUL grandchildren. She has been the pianist at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Whitehouse since 2000. She loves music and wants her playing to be a blessing to those around her.

Email Sue

Sue Sexton, served along side her husband Bob as a pastor's wife for twenty-seven years. After his retirement in 2002 she began helping in the office as a volunteer. Soon she began working with Smith Association as a paid employee on an as needed basis. With the increased ministry of SBA she has become a part-time associational secretary. Her experience as a pastor's wife and her seven years service as a church secretary provides our office with a totally different perspective. Sue is a very capable and efficient secretary, and loves the Lord and His work.

Email Harold

Harold came to the Association as our accountant in 2002 after serving two years as its treasurer. Harold earned a BBA from the University of North Texas. He received his CPA certificate in 1960. After 9 years in public practice he served 8 years as the CFO of Letourneau College. In 1975 he began his service with Southern Baptist in Dallas as controller of BGCT. In 1979 Harold served Guidestone Financial Services as treasurer, CFO, and Executive Vice President. He retired in 1998 and moved to Tyler where he resides with his wife Martha.
